Andorra Digital nomad residence

What you must show and pay

Requirements

• The applicant's work needs no fixed geographic location and uses telecommunications and technology. ¹
• The applicant fits within the quota for digital nomad residence. ^{1 4}
• The applicant makes Andorra the main and effective residence for at least 90 days a calendar year. ¹
• Sufficient means for the applicant and dependants for the whole permit, under requirements set by regulation. ¹
• Application fee: EUR 224.61 (≈ $250). ²
• A favourable ruling from the economy ministry confirming the location-independent work, requested with a sworn statement. ^{1 3}
• Proof of owning or renting a home that meets habitability rules, or of starting to buy one within one year. ¹
• Health and disability insurance valid in Andorra for the whole permit period. ¹
• Passport, criminal record certificates and a sworn statement on criminal record. ¹
• The economy ministry ruling is requested online first; it is free and takes up to 15 working days. ³
• The residence application is then filed in person; the maximum decision time is 2 months. ²
• Register with the parish council (Comú) within one month of the grant, as the Government's immigration page says; the e-Tràmits page for the same procedure says three months. ^{1 2}

Stay

• Initial permit 2 years, first renewal 2 years, second renewal 3 years, later renewals 10 years; nationals of states with a convention with Andorra get different terms.
• Initial permitted stay: 24 months.
• Renewable, subject to the conditions in force at renewal.

Nationality

Applications fall under the digital nomad quota.

Work

Location-independent work only.

Family

Dependants of the applicant or of the spouse or partner can be covered by the application.

Fine print

The two official pages give different deadlines for registering with the Comú (one month on govern.ad, three months on e-Tràmits); the shorter one is shown. The immigration law sets three months for residence and work permits and does not name this permit.
