You can apply for permanent residence after at least 1 year of legal residence in Belize, with no more than 14 days away in total during that year, proof of financial stability and a clean criminal record. Your status at the time can be a student, dependent or employment permit.
CitizenshipGeneral rule: 5 years as a permanent resident
Citizenship by registration needs 5 years as a permanent residence holder, living continuously in Belize (no more than 30 consecutive days away, or 3 months in total in any 12 months). Guatemalan nationals do not qualify by registration.
