## What we cover

Long-stay ways to live in a country: visas and permits for remote work, investment, business, retirement, talent, work, study and family, plus free movement and long visa-free stays. Tourist and transit visas are left out. Tax rules are kept apart from visas: special regimes and how each country taxes foreign-source income.

## How facts are sourced and checked

- Only official sources: immigration and tax authorities, official gazettes and legislation.
- Every figure links to its source and shows the date we checked it.
- Each record is reviewed separately, with special care for effective dates, amendments and money thresholds.
- When a source doesn't state something, we leave it out instead of guessing. Where a rule is unclear, the route says so on its own page.
- 89% of routes are fully verified; the others are marked as partly verified where they appear.

## How often we update

- Routes in Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea, Malaysia are re-checked monthly; other countries every three months, and sooner when a rule changes.
- US dollar equivalents use a daily reference exchange rate, fetched each time we update the site; the rate date is shown with the figures.
- Official rule changes and our corrections are listed on the [changes page](https://settleanywhere.com/changes/).
